Focus your ads on low prices and savings.

"Consumers care about prices more than ever, especially on day-to-day purchases," says Google. "When someone searches on a particular product, you know they're interested; by using your ad to tell them that you've got the highest quality and the best price, you're more likely to earn their click."

2. Use value-related keywords.

People are constantly looking for bargains. Google suggests using keywords that cater to this mentality. The company recommends using the AdWords Search-based keyword tool and Search Query Performance report to find higher-performing keywords that people are actually searching.

3. Make sure your ad groups are targeted and relevant.

"Ads perform best when their ad text reflects the ad group's keywords; this makes ads more relevant to their intended audience," says Google. "Make sure that both the text and the keywords in each ad group focus on a specific topic or product."

4. Don't waste money on irrelevant clicks.

Google suggests using negative keywords to filter out traffic from people looking for things that you don't offer. They use an example that if you sell peanut butter, you might want to use "allergy" as a negative keyword.

5. Make it easy for customers to buy.

This tactic is all bout the landing page. Put some thought into your landing page, because people don't want to hunt around trying to find where they need to go to buy the item they clicked on the ad to buy in the first place. Why make it hard? It should be as easy a process as possible.

6. Focus your money on your high-performers.

Google has a free conversion tracking tool that will let you see what keywords and ads are performing best. It is wise to focus your time and resources on the ones you are getting the most value out of.

That's the six tactics Google provides for maximizing you AdWords investment. Performance is more important than ever when there is not as much money to play around with. If you're using PPC as an advertising method, focus on eliminating the waste of money by getting the most you can out of your campaigns. Google provides more resources for each of these tactics

How to Increase Google Ad Title Length!

There has been a bit of discussion of late about the length of AdWords ad titles with some advertisers reporting more than 25 characters being displayed in their title.

Search Engine Roundtable first discussed the issue back in March when Google confirmed there was a bug in their system which was allowing some advertisers to display more than the 25 character limit.

The latest news is that an AdWords representative has actually told an advertiser how they can make their ad title longer.

The news broke in a WebmasterWorld thread. Here is the main discussion:
This just in from a chat conversation with a Googler at AdWords! Was told by a specific Googler with the initials P.A. that “If you use keyword insertion in you ad text, the ad title may show more than 25 characters.” So it seems the answer is dynamic keyword insertion. What is dynamic keyword insertion? It’s an advanced feature in AdWords which allows the advertisers to insert code into the ad text. Then when the searcher sees your ad, the keyword they used in that search replaces the code in you ad text.

How to make the most out of google Adwords

Your decision to go for Google Adwords is a welcome step for enhancing your business on the Web. But your good intentions to give your business a jump start, or accelerate its revenue generation needs a little research before it becomes a turning point in your business. Or it goes the way you have envisioned it to be.

No one running a business ever wishes that the crucial dollars spend on the business for online marketing would result into frustrating Click through Rate (CTR), disheartening Conversion to Sales (CTS), and equally dismal end results. Your online advertising campaign may drain out your budget, only to strain your business equations if you have not given careful and incisive attention to your selection of keywords.

There is absolutely no sense to use a bundle of keywords to drive traffic to your site when you can perform better with fewer keywords, which come form focused research. It is better to analyze the nature of your business, who your customers are, what keywords your competitors are using, and how best you can choose a keyword which suggests the specialty of your offerings vis-à-vis other players in same market segment and yet leads to pretty good amount of traffic diversion to your site.

To reap rich dividends from Google Adswords, it becomes crucial to fine tune or refine your key terms for the ads. A good webmaster appreciates the fact that it pays to be a bit specific in opting for the keywords, and go for the exact match to make the most out of Google Adswords.

As is clear so far that to put a most targeted Google Adswords campaign, keywords need to be fewer, focused, well-researched, and in the language users are habitual to use. To do fine along such lines, one might use the tips and techniques available on authoritative SEO portals and platforms, and from Google's pages offering an insight into this subject.

Enhancing the effectiveness of Google Adswords

Once you are finished with research on keywords, and settled down with a few keywords, then comes the turn of categorizing your ad campaign. You might be contemplating your online marketing campaign for a particular product class, let's say, some consumer goods, it is recommended to decide what are the keywords that would do good with each product under this category. This classification will, of course, help you to evaluate the effectiveness of the keywords for each product. This is how you will continue with more paying keywords, and will stop incurring costs on non performing keywords to make your ad campaign deliver more good.

Develop captivating and market driven titles of the ads

The web space for Google Adswords does not come cheap, and is not in plenty. Fundamentals of business say that each and every inch of this should a value addition to you business. It should define your business, or serve your purpose what it is planed to for individual product or product category. The best way to make it all happen is to go for such a title which catches and captivates the attention of users to be clicked so that sales may happen. If the titles briefly contain what users are going to type in for what they are looking for, they are to be hit upon. The titles should also contain some words that not only detonate the availability of what searchers are trying to find, but also some add on benefits like some saleable features, price advantage, better quality and so on.

Copy of ads is what makes or loses a customer

The title of an ad brings the viewer to its body text. How far the customers go from here depends on how enticing the copy below the title is, and whether the copy is pushing the product to the eventual sale.

There are few vital aspects for the copy of an ad. The ad copy should make the viewer think that it caters to the felt need, or it provides the solution what the users are surfing to find. The copy of the ad should be skillfully crafted to market the product or service.

Research suggests that certain words are very dear to customers like Free, Off, Never Before Prices, Bargains, Hot Deals, etc. So, your ads may use a good combination of such selling words to describe what's on the offer. This is not all; the copy should contain strong call to action like Buy Now! Limited Offer! Hurry up or Lose! Purchase Now for More Discount! etc.

Assessing the performance of keywords to shoot up effectiveness of ad program

Assessing the results of keywords is an exercise most webmasters ignore, or do not feel it an engagement to be in. That's the reason webmasters are caught in situations wherein they no longer see the results as in the past, and cry over the spilt milk.

Google Adswords features an option which enables the webmaster to put in place the tracking code on the page next to a materialized sale or a qualified lead capture. The tracking code is often less used tool to track the conversion and decipher a distinct pattern of buyer browsing behavior to escalate profits. The tracking code can help you optimize your ad titles or ad copies, and do a pretty good experimentation for higher return on investments, and hence a more effective online advertisement campaign.

The experimentation with the ad titles or ad copies may include writing them in all lower cases, or all upper cases, or some eye catching styles or fonts; you can see for yourself with an eye on the tracking code what clicks, and what does not. Another important consideration could be making your URLs more and more inclusive of keywords and tracking their effectiveness to go for a URL along with studies styles, fonts, or cases which can make a big impact on the end results.

Use Phrase Match/Exact Match in Google Adswords to increase Click through Rate

Quality always matters over quantity, and that's why it is better to opt for Phrase Match or Exact Match in Google Adswords. It will drive qualified leads to the site, and hence there is greater chance of a conversion or a sale. To opt for Phrase Match you need to use quotation marks around your keywords, and it likely raise CTR of the ad. Going for Exact Match in Google Adswords means you have to keep your keywords in brackets, and it will add specificity to the meaningful traffic. Going for these matches carves out a niche as far as performance and associated costs of Google Adswords campaign are concerned.

In addition to this, it always better to target the geographies for which your ad can be particularly advantageous for both -- your business in terms of sales and customers in terms of their need satisfaction. So, you can specify the parts of the globe in Google Adswords wherein your ad may appear, and is likely to perform better.

Lesson: Innovation is what keeps you ahead of the rest

Google Adswords is a powerful online advertising vehicle to market your products and services, to build your brand image, and to be engaged in market research -- just to give your promotional campaign a new height. What shows you the way all through is how best you use your brains for the innovative use of Google Adswords with a bit of research and experimentation.

How to Optimize Your Google Adwords Ads

Identify the goal, create a list of keywords, keyword matching, organizing the campaign, clear and understandable text, landing pages useful, to analyze the results of the campaign and modify it.

These councils have to do with all that has been seen, but it's good to remember and be very present because these steps do know the success is assured.

For those who use Adwords, has changed the tool being used to choose the right words. From now on, if it goes to the very Adwords Account, in "Campaign Management" - "Tools" - "keyword tool" that will be found to do a search is the "Keyword popularity" .

In this new version of the tool keyword, open to the public, it will see much more data on searches conducted at its search engine. Among these developments, highlighting the power to visually check the quantity (in volume of searches) over the last twelve months of that search phrase.

The standard version of Adwords lets you create many ads and organizing them into groups of ads and campaigns. As an initial step, try to create variations in the wording of his announcement today. Observe what messages and phrases attract more attention and clicks from users.

Then, we recommend that you think about the possibility of creating new ad groups. An ad group is the combination of a set of keywords and one or more ads for a specific product. If, for example, has six different products on sale are advised to create six ad groups with separate keywords and messages related to each product.

It also suggests the creation of new campaigns. In moving from one version to another, it will create a single account from its original listing and the options it had set for him. The new campaigns that are created will allow target ads to multiple cities or countries, as well as different languages. Each campaign has its own budget, which would prove to be a very useful way to manage your advertising investment.
It is important that the ads run more often, and if the daily budget determines how often they are displayed with the keywords. To maximize the number of times your ad appears in a day, set your daily budget to the recommended amount during the process of creating the campaign.

We need to improve further the position of the ad. The position of these targeted keyword is determined by the CPC and the highest level of quality of the ad. Therefore, if you increase the performance factors, such as the maximum CPC or the level of quality, improve the position of the ad.

Finally, the ads more clickthrough rate (CTR) are more likely to offer relevant clicks and leads. And thus will be shown more often than those with lower CTR.

Although it has already been said, it's worth repeating, we must address them directly to the public itself, create ads and linking to relevant content.

To refine your keywords and phrases you should select those that are relevant for the product or service they are trying to sell. General keywords will generate a large number of impressions, but often result in a reduced number of clicks.

This means that it must be more concise and direct. For example, if you sell tennis accessories, it is preferable not to choose the keyword "tennis", as it is feasible that the ads appear on searches on topics unrelated to the business, such as tennis lessons. Therefore, we recommend choosing more descriptive phrases for its own products or services, so that your ads appear only in relevant searches. Regarding this example, you can include any of the following phrases: tennis rackets, tennis shoes, tennis ball machines.

You have to identify the unique characteristics of the product or service being offered. And this is critical to emphasize the unique benefits it offers to differentiate themselves from the competition and attract more potential customers.

It is known that only the users will click on the ad if they are interested in what is offered, therefore we must facilitate the task of seeking out more by sending them through the link to a page that contains relevant information, which in turn should be simple for the user.

Finally, and most importantly, we must keep track of conversions. This feature allows you to track the number of clicks on the ads that are converted into purchases, subscriptions, page views and potential customers, for free.

The track conversions involves placing a cookie on the user's computer when he clicks on an ad. Thus, if the user clicks on their ad and reaches one of your conversion pages, the browser on that user sends a cookie to the server and Google in its place a small image conversion tracking. When a match like this, Google records a conversion to its correct name. This information is reflected on the Summary tab of the campaign "Campaign Management" from their Adwords Account.

Quality Score Fact

Showing up in a higher position will not benefit your Quality Score. The best and the most relevant ads normally are at higher chances of achieving higher clicks. Keep in mind that headlines for your ads can either make or break your adword campaign. There are various ways of creating catch headlines and all it takes is for you to further understand it. When you make ads and headlines, try to make them as questions because this can generally keep your searchers interested. You can also try offering instructions, such as How to Lose Weight in One Week. For a more creative approach, a headline that tells a story is very effective. This can really spark the interest of your readers, thus making them click on your ads so they could read some more.

When you write adwords ads, as much as possible, avoid mentioning things or facts you are not familiar with. Be sure instead to talk about something that you know about. When people notice this, there is a greater chance for them to click on your ad since they may be interested to learn some more. However, you can also be as wacky and as unbelievable as well. This can easily catch the attention of people. One classic example is the phrase "Losing Weight without Exercise". Although this may really sound absurd, people can easily notice this, thus making them prospects for your ads.

Making comparisons also help a lot in effective adword ad writing. In reality, people will always look for something better. When you compare, do it with your products that have well-known competitors. Another great idea, moreover, is to use the Three Dots. It has long been proven by experts that doing so can obtain a number of customers. This is basically because when people see these dots after a phrase, they somehow think there is more detail and information to find out.

Using the keyword "secret" is very effective as well. When these are used in headlines, expect a steady flow of searchers. The same thing also applies for the "You Need To" phrase. However, for some people the term might sound negative as it exudes a command more than a request, this approach is likely to attract customers since when you tell them what to do and they are interested about it, they will click on your ad instinctively.

When it comes to effective writing of adwords ads, there are a lot of tips you can learn. As long as you are creative and you have the desire to learn for more, in no time you can really gain more clicks and customers.

Top 10 Google Adwords Mistake

Google Adwords is a great place to advertise. You can get a large number of visitors coming over to your web site at a known cost per visitor. The first visitor generally lands up within a few minutes. However if you are not careful, you can burn up a large amount of money without having much Return on Investment (ROI).

Here are some mistakes that even regular Adwords advertisers have been found to be making. Make sure you are not making any of these mistakes and save a bundle of money.

Mistake #1: Having only 1 ad in the ad groups!

You should be constantly testing variations of your ads and for this; you should have minimum 2 and sometimes more ads in each ad group.
Setup your campaign to rotate ads evenly. The default setting is to show the better ad more often, which seems more logical but does not allow you to run effective testing. Wait for enough time to get around 30 clicks on the best ad and then delete the lowest performing one. Replace this with a variation of the best performing ad.

Mistake #2: Having widely varying keywords in the same ad group.

If you have widely varying keywords (like ‘replacement windows’ and ‘upvc doors’) in the same ad group, you will not be able to match the ads closely with all the keywords and this will result in poor quality scores, costing you more per click.

You should take out one set of keywords and create a separate ad group for those. Now write a new set of ads for these keywords.

Mistake #3: Not using the negative keywords.

You must use negative keywords (put –keyword in the keyword list) to avoid showing your ad to an uninterested audience. If you are selling a guide on some subject, you should use "-free" as a keyword to avoid people looking for free advice or free ebooks and like.

Mistake #4: Not using the exact match and phrase match keywords.

You must be using each of the broad match (keyword phrase), exact match ( [keyword phrase] ) and phrase match ("keyword phrase") variations of your keywords in your keyword list. This way, your CTR will be much higher for the exact match terms resulting in lower CPC.

If you are low on budget, you may even eliminate the broad match keywords from your list. That way you will get fewer clicks but high CTR and low CPC.

Mistake #5: Not checking your quality score.

Google assigns a quality score to each of your keywords. If your score is not Great or at least OK, you may be paying much more per click. To see your score, go to your ad groups and click on the keywords tab. Now choose "Show/hide columns" and opt to show the quality scores.

The quality score depends on the matching of the ad message, keywords, display URL and the landing page.

Mistake #6: Not having a targeted display URL.

Did you know that you can use any Display URL from your domain (it may not even exist)? So instead of using www.domain.com, consider using www.Domain.com/product where you put appropriate values for domain and product.

This gives an indication to the reader that you will take him to a specific page and not to the home page, increasing the likelihood of a click.

Mistake #7: Not having a focussed landing page.

Your landing page is a vital element of your Adwords campaign. Most of the times, you must avoid sending the visitor to the home page. Instead, they should be directed to a focussed landing page that continues the experience.

There are several elements of the landing page that must be checked to make sure that you get the best results:

• The visitor has come here after seeing your ad. He should get a similar message in the headline. If there is any discrepancy, he will simply go back. A classic mistake is to offer a free ebook or free trial in the ad and not talking about that in the landing page (or at least not putting it prominent enough).
• There must be the least number of distracting elements. The menu options can be put in the footer. Do not try to sell multiple products from a single landing page.
• Make it clear to the visitor what he has to do next (add to cart, buy, subscribe etc) with a prominent call to action.
• Have confidence building elements like testimonials, association logos etc
• A privacy policy just below the call-to-action button is compulsory.

Mistake #8: Not targeting a specific country or region for geo-specific products or service.

If you are selling a local service that applies to only a specific geographical area, why not select a country or even a region to tightly target visitors from only that region. This can save you a big chunk of money on wasted exposure and useless clicks and you may afford to invest more on clicks from your area.

Mistake #9: Not discovering new keywords consistently.

You must be on a lookout for new keywords that you can advertise on. The Google keywords tool can give you a good beginning. Wordtracker also offers a free trial.

Try this: Search for your important terms and visit the top ranking sites (say top 20). Now view the HTML source of each of these sites (right click on the page, select view source option). See what keywords they have used in the meta-keywords tag and note any that are relevant but you are not already using. Add new ad group(s) with these keywords.

Mistake #10: Not using the conversion tracker.

Getting high click-through rates is great. But you need sales or subscription sign-ups or some other actions. So your ultimate aim is to maximise the conversion.

Google offers a very useful and simple to implement conversion tracker that you can install in a few minutes, by copying a small piece of JavaScript code on the thank-you page. This will give you much better insights as you can get an idea on which keywords are actually converting better and also, the cost of each conversion. This is a much better metric than the click-through rate.
Since you need to have access to the thank-you page to use this feature, you can use this only if you are marketing your own site. You cannot use this if you are advertising sites on an affiliate basis unless you are close to the site owner who will agree to place your conversion code.

Adwords Negative Keywords

As you know, you should include lots of negative match keywords in your keyword lists.
